Why Anden?

Purpose-Built for Cultivation,
Not Comfort.

Anden designs dehumidification systems specifically for controlled environment agriculture, not repurposed comfort HVAC.

Most dehumidifiers on the market were designed for basements, warehouses, or comfort cooling. Anden is different. Their units are engineered from the ground up to handle the extreme moisture loads that plants generate through transpiration, in the exact temperature and humidity ranges found in commercial grow rooms.

But the unit is only as good as the system design around it. Proper sizing, placement, and integration with your cooling and airflow systems is what separates a successful grow from a humidity disaster.

That is what Elliott does. He takes your actual conditions and makes sure the Anden system you buy is matched to your grow, not just your room size.

CEA-Optimized

Grow-Optimized Units

Designed specifically for the temperature and humidity ranges found in commercial cultivation. Not comfort HVAC repurposed for grows.

Scalable

Scalable Systems

Multiple units can be configured for rooms of any size. Proper load balancing across units matters, and Elliott will make sure it's right.

Planning Framework

Dehumidification Planning Is a
Step-Wise Process.

You cannot size a dehumidifier correctly without understanding the full system around it. Elliott walks every client through these four steps before recommending a single unit.

Plan for Your Entire Grow

Map out your full operation before sizing any single system. Veg, flower, drying, mothers, clones. Each phase has different climate needs.

Determine Your Irrigation

Your irrigation strategy drives your moisture load. Every gallon of water you put into the room eventually ends up in the air. Start here.

Calculate Your Dehu Requirements

Based on canopy size, irrigation volume, and growth phase targets. Size for peak demand, then add buffer. No one ever wished they had less capacity.

Calculate Your Cooling Needs

Dehumidification adds heat. Your cooling system must account for it. This is why you calculate dehu first, then AC requirements.

The Problem

Proper Dehumidification Isn't an Option.
It's Mandatory.

The biggest single point of failure in a CEA operation is improper or undersized dehumidification. And it doesn't manifest itself until it's too late, like week 6 in flower. Once you have a problem, it can be extremely difficult to solve. Proper planning can avoid all of the hassle and expense.

Powdery Mildew (PM)

The single biggest fungal threat in indoor cultivation. Spreads through airborne spores that enter grow rooms via infected clones, contaminated equipment, or poor environmental control. High humidity and stagnant air are the primary accelerants. Once present, it can spread facility-wide within days.

Airborne spores spread facility-wide within days

Bud Rot (Botrytis cinerea)

A fungal disease that attacks flowers from the inside out, spreading quickly in cool, humid conditions with poor airflow. By the time you can see it, the damage is done. Prevention through proper humidity control is the only reliable strategy.

RH >85% = active Botrytis risk
Common Failures

The Mistakes That Cost Growers the
Most Money

Most dehumidification plans blow up before a single unit ships, because capacity was calculated wrong, or never calculated at all.

01

Shop by performance, not nameplate.

Dehumidifiers are rated at specific test conditions (80°F, 60% RH). Real-world performance in your grow room will differ. If you size based on the number in the model name, you are almost certainly undersized.

02

Forgot 2x conversion, bought half of what's needed.

Liters-to-pints conversion errors are shockingly common and result in half the dehumidification capacity you actually need. Double-check every unit conversion before placing an order.

03

Sizing for average load only, instead of peak load.

Your dehumidification needs spike at lights-off when temperatures drop and RH climbs. Size for the peak, not the average, or you will lose the crop at the worst possible moment.

04

Assuming AC will provide all of your dehumidification needs.

That is why you have to calculate dehumidification needs first, then AC requirements. Air conditioning removes some moisture, but nowhere near enough for a flowering canopy.

05

Controlling RH instead of actual VPD.

Relative humidity is only half the picture. Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) accounts for both temperature and humidity, and it is what your plants actually respond to. Chasing RH alone leads to incorrect environmental targets.

06

AC stops at lights-out, temperatures drop, and RH spikes.

This creates peak dehumidification demand at the exact moment your cooling system stops running. Without properly sized dedicated dehumidification, this is where crops are lost.

07

Matching ratings to peak conditions and moisture.

All dehumidifiers have drastically lower efficiencies at lower temperatures and lower humidity, creating more caveats for proper sizing. A unit rated at 300 pints at 80°F/60% RH performs very differently at 68°F/55% RH.

Smaller, less expensive dehumidifiers barely work, and never perform according to specs. Avoid these at all costs and go for the commercial units.

One free call with Elliott prevents all seven of these.

Before you size a single unit, before you sign a single PO, get the math right. Elliott has sized dehumidification systems for facilities from 1,000 to 50,000+ square feet.

What Growers Say

What Commercial Growers Say About This Call

Real results from professional cultivators who rely on Anden to dial in precise humidity control across every stage of growth.

System Sizing Review
✓ Prevented major undersizing mistake
Elliott caught a conversion error in our sizing calculations that would have left us with half the dehumidification we needed. That one call saved us from a full crop loss.
Quote Validation
✓ Identified undersized systems before install
We had quotes from three contractors. Elliott reviewed all of them and showed us where two were undersized for our lights-off conditions. Nobody else even mentioned it.
Load Balancing
✓ Optimized room-by-room capacity
Straight shooter. Told us we were oversized on one room and undersized on another. Saved us money and protected the crop at the same time.

Common Questions

Questions We Hear Every Week

Anden designs their systems specifically for CEA environments, not repurposed from comfort HVAC. That means they're optimized for the temperature and moisture conditions you actually run in a grow room. Elliott can walk you through exactly which model fits your specific conditions.
Match pints per day to your daily watering volume, then check voltage and mounting. The A320/A710 cover commercial rooms; A70–A210 fit smaller sealed spaces. Send your room specs and Elliott sizes it exactly, free.
Not for a commercial operation. Portable dehumidifiers can be used in a pinch when equipment fails or is being serviced, but should never be relied upon for daily duty. Mini-splits can be effective, but are generally less efficient than larger split systems. Smaller equipment typically uses lower voltage, which requires more amps, is less efficient, and generates more heat. Upgrade to higher voltages where possible, especially equipment with compressors.
It can, if you chase low RH instead of targeting the right VPD for your growth stage. Very high VPD causes stress, reduces nutrient transport, and can damage the plants. "Drier is safer" is not a universal rule. The goal is the right range, held tightly, without fast swings.
A dehumidifier's efficiency and capacity both decrease with cooler temperatures and lower RH. Dehumidifiers are typically rated at 80 degrees Fahrenheit and 60% RH, and this number is reflected in the model name. However, grow conditions fluctuate throughout the day, and targets fluctuate depending upon the phase of growth. Always size your dehu for peak demand and then add more for a buffer. No one ever said that they wish they had less dehu capacity.
Almost always. Our direct relationships mean pricing most growers cannot access. That discount comes straight to you, with volume and bundled savings on top.
Yes, it's free. The catch is that we also sell the equipment, and we'd love to earn your business. But the call itself is genuinely useful whether you buy from us or not. The hard part is getting him to stop.
